The expertise of Cicada’s managing director Di Burton is in high demand – both in and out of the UK.

The CIPR-approved trainer and consultant has recently returned from Norway where she delivered an internal communications workshop to the heads of communication for Aker Solutions’ Subsea business unit. 

Aker Solutions is a leading global provider of engineering and construction services with around 24,000 employees in over 30 countries.

Di, who is recognised as an industry expert in internal communications, covered a range of topics in the session which formed part of the organisation’s global communications workshop.

The delegates came from as far afield as Kuala Lumpur and Brazil.

After a hugely successful start to 2008, Harrogate-based Cicada Communications is continuing its upward trend after winning several new clients over the past month.

The agency has been appointed by Halliwells, the largest independent law firm outside London. The Cicada team will be working to raise the profile of the Sheffield office across Yorkshire.

Cicada will also be working with Extend-A-Room to manage a regional and national business and consumer media relations campaign. The company specialises in conservatories and sunrooms that do not need foundations, and can be constructed in as little as one day.

Cicada’s third new client is the active investment fund Phase 37. The team’s brief is to launch the new fund to potential investors and investee companies and improve the company’s visibility within the business community.

The agency will also be implementing community and media relations programmes for a range of commercial development opportunities in North Yorkshire.

The new accounts, which are worth over £100,000 in annual billings, further strengthens Cicada’s impressive, and varied, client portfolio.

Cicada has welcomed a new honorary member to its team. Alice Cecily Baldwin was born to proud parents Scilla and Richard at 04.44 on 31 January 2008 weighing 8lbs. Alice is now a regular at Cicada for tea and cakes and is already showing signs of being a great PR executive!
