Cicada Communications has added a new member to the team this summer, to assist with its flagship campaign, National Insect Week.

Marine Le Garo is a French student studying public communications at Leeds Trinity. Marine started working with us in April on a three month placement, and has quickly got involved in day to day PR life.

Marine said: “I arrived here in October to study a Masters in public communications, after completing a degree in law and communications in France. I wanted to work in a public relations agency to improve my PR skills and also my English and to get some really good work experience. I’ll be working at Cicada for three months, helping the team to organise National Insect Week 2008 – my role on the campaign is working with the event organisers to publicise their events and provide them with merchandise and resources.

“I also help out in other areas, including writing press releases and helping out at events and conferences. I was a bit nervous in the beginning but I fortunately found a very nice and friendly team who have welcomed me and made me feel like a member of Cicada.

“I’m really enjoying my placement, thank you girls!”
