It’s been an interesting few weeks on the people watching front. On Budget Day I was in the Glaziers Hall on the Thames for the launch of the 2010 PR Week Powerbook, the definitive guide to the most influential people in PR. Agency and in-house PR supremos from the South East dominated – even the FT’s Mrs Moneypenny turned up.

Editor Danny Rogers gave an amusing round up of the entries; most PR people wanted to be “taller” when they grew up, and Gordon Brown didn’t even make the top ten most admired politicians list, an accolade that went to Barack Obama.

And then it was on to the Ackrill Business Awards at Harrogate International Centre. Cicada sponsored the Lifetime Achievement Award, won this year by Brian Dunsby. It was strange seeing the cream of the Harrogate business community flinging themselves around on the dance floor – I blame it all on the terrific band.

Finally back down to London to judge the CIPR Excellence Awards for the Best Integrated Communications Category. Plenty of impressive campaigns to look through.
