The Cicada team has been up to monkey business in Harrogate courtesy of our VIP visitor, Rushenya the Ugandan mountain gorilla.

The animatronic ape was in town as part of a guerrilla marketing campaign to help us publicise the Wildlife & Safari Travel Show (Harrogate Convention Centre – 12-13 October).

Cicada is managing a strategic media relations campaign for show organisers Converge Exhibitions and arranged a walkabout in the town centre for ITV Calendar News which caused quite a stir among locals and visitors alike outside Bettys. You can see the resulting coverage here: https://vimeo.com/user90383448

The Wildlife & Safari Travel Show promises a host of thrilling experiences for passionate travellers as well as some of the biggest names in wildlife and travel to inspire those seeking to make the switch form armchair viewer to worldwide explorer.

The show will see the Northern premieres of Sketch for Survival, featuring wildlife sketches by celebrities from across the globe, and the Comedy Wildlife Photo Awards. Both exhibitions seek to raise awareness of species extinction and highlight animal conservation.

Visitors can also get their children involved in elephant conservation. They can meet explorer Holly Budge and view the How Many Elephants visual petition which is raising awareness of the devasting impact of the ivory trade.
