Cicada works closely with Finance Yorkshire to build its profile as a business investor and raise awareness of the companies in which it invests.

Since its launch eight years ago, Finance Yorkshire has invested in more than 500 SMEs across Yorkshire and the Humber. These investments have created or safeguarded more than 16,000 jobs in the region, enabling those companies to increase their turnover by a total of £474m and attract a further £362m from other private sector sources.

Finance Yorkshire appointed Cicada in 2013 to ensure that it was front of mind with its target audience of SMEs and their advisors.

Our ongoing services cover a wide range of marketing services including include press releases and media relations, web content such as news and case studies, advertising, event management, newsletter production and social media.

By working closely with fund managers, we create investment ‘stories’ which appeal to target media and provide strong content for the FY website.

Finance Yorkshire stories receive regular, high profile media coverage in titles including the Yorkshire Post, Sheffield Star, Business Desk, Insider, Bdaily and BQ. Finance Yorkshire also enjoys profile in trade media.


In addition, we manage the website and have significantly increased social media followers. Members of the Cicada team are occasionally based at Finance Yorkshire’s offices and are fully integrated with the fund management and executive teams.

The Finance Yorkshire fund achieved full investment of £113m last year. Returns from investments will be used to create a legacy fund for future investment into the region. We look forward to working with the team on this next chapter.
